Of all the States and Territories of Australia, Western Australia is the one most well known for the riotous assembly of wild-flowers. Here in the South West we are coming out of the indigenous Whadjuk season of Djilba (Sprinter/First Spring) the bright yellows of the wattles and the orchids, now start to give way to the firework display of the amazing Kambarang season (Sprummer, or Second Spring.) In the botanical gardens at Kings Park, the gardens showcase the flora of the State's regions.
This is the South West region - there's Bunjong, Red Kangaroo Paw, Saltbush, some prostrate Bansksias, and lots of others.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely!! So, as our land is getting ready for sleep, your's is just waking up.
ReplyDeleteThis is our land's big show before everyone hunkers down to endure the 40degree Celsius heat - a lot of things just shut down to survival mode.
ReplyDeleteYeah, its that heat thing I wouldn't be able to deal with.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I fled Southern California. Okay, one of the reasons. The other being that its beige.
ReplyDeleteCan't abide beige.
