The other big thing we did for the games room at Swancon 40, and probably the most significant, is that we pre arranged volunteers to teach games and set times and put it in the convention program. Having extra 'greeter' meeple angels easily identifiable and briefed before their duties walking the floor, moving on noisy people, and getting people to someone who could teach them, and answering equiries of all sorts really got people sitting down and gaming. Or in some cases standing up and gaming.  We always tried to have someone not tied to a game who could floor walk. If a Meeple Angel sat down to play/teach they hung their vest on their chair, so as to be easily findable for queries.
