Bronny says over 600 people in her department, including the redoubtable Nicola, have shipped off to fight the fires.
A lot are Regional staff or Fire Management Branch and the rest are the preformed teams. She says have five pre-formed fire teams of about 60 people each who support the fireys by doing all the other jobs e.g. catering, accommodation, media, mapping, radio. At least three teams have been called.
Nicola will be in the tent city that the army built yesterday.
