Boardgamegeek is a powerful tool but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming for those who have just discovered it. This often results in users wandering, finding the game they're interested in, and fleeing the information overload. Whilst I usually only hang around my own gaming club's guild - https://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/view/308 for those who are interested - there are a couple of useful geeklists that help you get more from your bgg.

One of them is https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/34918/tricks-geek

and another is https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/50373/more-tricks-geek

Of course, if all else fails, there's the https://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/BoardGameGeek_FAQ but I really found the Tricks of the Geek helpful. It's what led me to https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/300976/your-favorite-bgg-quickbar-links and using the quickbar is what helped me utilise BGG a lot better than I was doing.

  1. Thanks for the advice. Love board games and spend a lot of time playing and collecting them but I hardly ever go to BGG because I don't like the layout of the site.
