Annoyed with Google+'s insistence on real names?

Annoyed with Google+'s insistence on real names? Diaspora doesn't insist, and I have some invites to give away. Bear in mind it is only in alpha release though.
However it is much like Google+ in layout.

  4. Maybe because it looks like a real name...a few people I know have complained that they were forced to change.

  5. I don't actually mind if someone uses an alias and a non-photo online. But having had some of my favourite Usenet groups rendered unusable by loons and stalkers I absolutely want there to be real verifiable identity behind that public anonymity.

  7. Stephen Gunnell I can see it both ways, there's good reasons for and against each view, and no particularly easy answers.
