It's Donna's last show right now, and she's running these 2 contests and giving a lot of stuff away for those that can manage it...
The Donnas ContestDonna's self-serving, ego-maniacal contest. Whenever you hear a song by the Donnas, you are to blue message her with something about her. Tell her you love her, tell her you hate her or tell her you think she should shut the hell up and get back to music. As long as it mentions her, it counts as an entry. Winners receive half a million meat and Donna's heart.Note that this contest is a joke, a gimmick, something fun to involve the listeners and give her silly things to talk about. Ego stroking is nice, but not necessary. In fact, the more unusual and creative, the better. She has been known to give bonus prizes to especially interesting entries.
[edit]Foosy TriviaSuper simple trivia where, if you know yourself, you know the answer because the questions are often about your underwear or unusual habits. This contest's entries are gathered through kmail so make sure to go green. Of the two contests, this is "the big one" so if Donna has anything big to give away, such as a Mr. Accessory or Voluminous Radio gear, this is likely when she would do it. When not giving away something grand, the prize is 1 million meat, a radio button candy, and whatever else falls into her box.

Extract from my blog concering last week's game.
Extract from my blog concering last week's game. "Last week's excitement began with gaming. In an exciting turn of events, the Scary Voiced Greek Guy rushes to meet the party who are just about to give the Irish Prince a tour of the Crystal Palace, something the Prince has been dreaming of for more than a year. He blurts out that his apprentice has been kidnapped, apparently by the Tiger guy. The prince steels himself and goes all noble and sadly decides to be dropped back at the Irish delegation's quarters. He is quite firm that there is a life at stake here, and even, after an intense discussion with Tan the Bodyguard, sends his bodyguard off with The Chinese Masterchef to 'assist' in 'negotiation' with the Tiger Guy.
The Decayed Elf has a conversation with TCMC in Mandarin, startling the chef, and perhaps himself.
The DE then tries to talk his way into an interview with the Prince, which the guards for the Irish Delegation and later the maid is having none of, and retires to watch the house in case the Prince gets itchy feet. Whether to help, hinder or a handy chance to Corrupt the Youth is possibly clearer than it should be. The Prince, although, has an over developed sense of responsibility, and stays in, although he could be sighted looking out the windows rather wistfully at the London he has been admiring so long, and futility trying to spot the distant dream of The Crystal Palace.
TCMC and Tan have a talk to the Tiger Guy, who with an air of 'this is all an unfortunate misunderstanding due to over zealous employees' directs them to where they can pick up young Eric.
Meanwhile, Harry the Fixer, The Indian Fakir, and TSVGG go back to Orthrus's workshop. TSVGG departs for the Greek Bar, where he arranges a party and something of a sacrifice to Ares, in case he's being observed by the Tiger guys, to convince them he's got tough backup.
Eric, is found to be Stunned, and recovers after Harry removes the pebble in his pocket and puts it on the workbench.
Eric samples the TCMC's cooking and requests the recipe, which soon turns out to be a full on cooking lesson. Tan departs with the centaur cabbies in one of the growlers to take word to the Prince that all is well.
All's well, apparently, that ends well, except, as night begins to fall the Prince sends a message asking if all is well, and that he will be needing his bodyguard back soon.
A very good session, some clear leadership and teamwork, and other things that were not any of those, but contributed - or at least did not detract from a successful resolution of the crisis."

Hiya Gamers:
My apologies, I'm terribly snowed under after the tournament, and things are requiring my attention. If anyone is able to write a few little notes about last week's games - even just a few scattered sentences that would be incredibly helpful for when I do get to it - hopefully tomorrow.
Elaine is of course excused from this not having been there, but needs to let me know some more about Mr. Rathmanapanathan.
I'm in the midst of writing a big review that I'm obliged to get out as quickly as possible, so can't get to it right now.
Doing it from the point of view of your character would be amusing.

The Perth Open is hitting Cockman Park THIS WEEKEND!!! and we still have limited places left if you haven’t pre-registered, so if you’re keen please pre-register at www.perthdiscgolf.com to secure your place.
For those of you that have already registered and are ready to throw, it should be a great tournament this year, especially since our tournament is also a part of the PDGA’s inaugural Global Disc Golf Tournament. This new concept compares our players scores over the weekend to competitors all over the world and should add a bit more excitement to the event (see http://www.pdga.com/global-dg-championship for more details).
Player fees are $50 for all Amateur divisions and $70 for Mens Open division, which includes a well-stocked players pack (for the first 25 pre-registrations), lunch both days and a cash purse for the pros.
The course used for the Perth Open this weekend will be the permanent nine-hole course at Cockman Park, Mulligan Drive Greenwood, with an additional temporary nine holes added to make up the eighteen. The semi-finals and finals will be played on the nine-hole modified “grunty” course to spice it up for the pointy end of the competition, with a few holes tweaked slightly from the standard “grunty” layout to avoid crossovers etc.
The schedule is as follows:
Sat 20th August
7am-8am Setup (volunteers welcome!)
8am-9am Player Registration
9am- 9:20am Tournament Opening & Players meeting
9:30am Tee-off 1st round of 18
Midday- 1pm Lunch
1:15pm Tee-off 2nd round of 18
Players Dinner- Details announced on Saturday (anyone interested, please let us know via email so we can gauge numbers).
Sunday 21st August
7:30am-8:30am- Setup (volunteers welcome!)
8:30am-8:45am Players Meeting
9:00am- Tee-off 3rd round of 18

all other divisions
2:10pm- 3:10pm Nine-hole “grunty” final for top four Mens Open
3:30pm-4pm Trophy presentations and Tournament Closing.
It should be a fantastic tournament, we hope you can make it along and players of all skill levels are welcome. Any questions or issues, please email us at info@perthdiscgolf.com.

And I draw stuff which you can find here http://www.cafepress.com/aliciasmith
Lots of people have been adding me to their circles but I'm terribly bad with names and worse with faces. I'm starting to have an "I have no idea circle" that I don't read. Do I know you? Why did you add me? Should I follow you and why? Any family or friends I see often reading this bear with me.
I'm going to be cleaning up my stream a bit and if I don't hear from some of you I'll be moving you out of my circles. Feel free to do the same!
Also don't feel obliged to follow me even if I'm following you. You are probably of interest to me, but I might not be to you.
I'm going to try to make this not be Facebook!
Feel free to message/email/morsecode me. But very slowly on the morse code, I'm not very fast and still learning.

Dinner is fend for yourself, Rob and I both had consecutive migraines this morning so we're a bit out of kilter and barely able to look after ourselves let alone anyone else today.

Western Australia
http://www.getup.org.au/campaigns/marine/sw-marine-parks/our-ocean-heritage
South Australia
http://www.getup.org.au/campaigns/marine/sa-marine-parks/
Most Western Australians live on the coast and enjoy a swim in the sea. Most of us will have happy memories of sandcastles and snorkelling and fishing.
My father, unfortunately recently deceased, pioneered underwater photography in this state. He loved the sea - the surf at Scarborough, the clear waters of Rottnest Island where he snorkelled - he taught me and my sister to love and respect the ocean and its creatures, there and at Metham's Pool and in Geraldton too!
But it's not just a matter of clear blue water and white sand, although that's more or less what most people see and think of.
Today's oceans are under pressure as never before. Pollution, non-sustainable fishing practises and the effects of climate change on the deeps make it deeply ironic that less than half of one percent of the world's oceans are marine sanctuaries.
"Scientific studies conducted both in Australia and overseas show that large marine national parks, in particular, support a higher diversity and abundance of marine life than surrounding areas. This is largely because fishing is removed from those areas.
If properly designed and large enough, marine national parks provide refuges where fish can grow to maturity and breed, creating a "spill over" effect, populating surrounding areas." - Australian Marine Conservation Society.
It makes sense to provide these reservations for both commercial species, and endangered wildlife, where the only pressure from humans will be from tourism, and properly managed may well be a benefit to the area, increasing public education, awareness and tourism dollars - and a desire to protect these irreplaceable organisms.
According the the Australian Marine
Conservation Society, Fewer protected areas exist in the pelagic ocean than any other ecosystem on Earth, yet it constitutes 99% of the biosphere volume, supplies >80% of the fish consumed by humans, and accounts for nearly half of the photosynthesis on Earth.
(Game, E.T. et al. 2009. Pelagic protected areas: the missing dimension in ocean conservation. TREE 24: 360-369.):
And at the end of it all, in all of Australia, only 14% of our marine waters are protected. Most of that is The Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
Western Australia is woefully under-represented in the Marine National Park stakes, and considering our fishing industry, at the very least, this is dangerous, without even considering the environmental impact. If the stocks have no where to recover, no reservation, no marine ark, then eventually they will be unable to recover. I'm finding it difficult to obtain local sustainable fish. Most fish sellers can't even tell me how a fish is caught.
I don't want to have to choose between sanctuaries! Do I save the criminally over fished Orange Roughie from the destructive sea floor trawling at the Albany Canyons or the majestic Blue Whale of the Perth Canyon. Biodiversity is a wonderful thing, and in some of the sanctuaries being proposed (and being unproposed!) we don't even know what is there yet.
We need these ten sanctuaries. What a wonderful thing it would be to ensure protection of these, our precious seas.
