We just saw a possum run across Labouchere Road across from the Zoo! It is the first time in all my years that I've seen a possum in the suburbs although it's known that they're here.
My workmate, Caroline, lives in Nedlands and certainly knows about the possums in the suburbs, especially when they fall down the gap in the wall between her bedroom and the bathroom.
First one I saw was being carried out of a house in a box by a council ranger in Shenton Park. They come over from Kings Park, apparently, which was where this one was going.

ReplyDeleteOh dear.
ReplyDeleteKarrakatta cemetery used to be a prime possum haunt.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is now. Or whether it's a different sort of 'haunt' for them these days.
ReplyDeleteMum did some babysitting for the caretaker just after the war. She thought the house had poltergeists in the roof.

ReplyDeletePS. The ranger seemed despondently sure that it would be back.
