Stephen Gunnell did you get my email?
"Hi Steveg,
I hope you had a better sleep last night and your back isn't giving you gyp.
We're running a presentation on Australian Game Design and History, it would be great to have you on it to talk about the way you've seen the hobby and the games grow from when you first started playing, and the huge explosion of war games in the 70's.
I will be playing a video timeline of early Australian board games right up to the modern era, so that should provide some food for discussion and some surprises for the audience.

Hope to have you with us!"

Hi Leece, I thought I had responded to that. But yes I'll join in.
ReplyDeleteThe 70's was when I started gaming so I'm not familiar with things before that.
So far I've only found one game from the 60's.
ReplyDeleteYou've played Squatter, haven't you? 1962.
And, thank you!
ReplyDeleteIf you're interested in being on The Science of Board Game Design I can let Sarah know as well.
ReplyDeleteSquatter would be one of my picks for a playable family game as opposed to Monopoly which generally ends up as an exercise in misery.
ReplyDeleteIf Sarah needs panellists I can be in.
Rob wouldn't know anyone with a light box suitable for slides would he?
I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteHe says not off the top of his head - except for the larger of our little scanners...
