    I should get something similar for tootles around Scandinavia. What hardware would I need?

    What I have is a little "Spot Tracker" - you buy the hardware which is a sturdy little orange beast smaller than a mobile phone. Then you buy the coverage insurance. http://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php?cid=101 find out about it at the link above and let's ask Rob Masters whether this is the thing for you, he knows the prices.
