Has anyone played the Second Edition Serenissima?
Has anyone played the Second Edition Serenissima? How did you find it? If you've played the original version, did you enjoy it more, less, about the same or did it turn out to be a completely different game that stands or falls on its own merits? And did it stand or fall? And what about Scarecrow's brain?

I was not familiar with this game so I just jumped over to BGG to check it out. Of course, and my empty wallet weeps, it looks like a fantastic pick-up/delivery game. I am quite interested in it now.
ReplyDeleteHi Clinton Coddington , sorry to put temptation before you. Rob Masters and I own the original edition and it is a visually spectacular and quite challenging game. A lot of stuff is going on, and battles are generally brutal for both sides. Even getting your home warehouse full - what I consider a must in the original game - can take all your time and resources. I am interested in the changes that have been made - there's a comprehensive list - and as to whether it has the feel of the original or whether it has turned into a completely different game.
ReplyDeleteAlicia Smith I'm always happy to find a game that may have slipped under my radar, especially one with a nautical theme like this (be it in space or on the seas). I am very interested in trying it out now.
ReplyDeleteWell, Clinton Coddington if you're ever down in our neck of the woods, we'd be happy to teach you the first ed. And then we can play Pirate's Cove, and Pirates of the Spanish Main and all the other nautical games we have. Oh and http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1334/entdecker-exploring-new-horizons Huh, haven't played that for a while should bring it out more.
