So, I'm in the last throws of packing.
As previously mentioned I am going to be writing and drawing each day, that is the plan!
Packing for a five week holiday in another country, in another hemisphere one must keep things light,
So my drawing kit is very compact. Three postcard books, to be drawn and sent along the way for friends and family. Two Lamy fountain pens, to be kept upright against pressure changes in the plane (I could empty them, that's safest but I will risk it.) a stubby Kaweco mechanical pencil, and the diary itself. A small sketch book. A very compact set of watercolour paints that Aussie Farmer Direct out in one of our veggie boxes one Christmas. Eraser. Refills, various.
Bike hire in Mariehamn has just been organised. #bigtourleece2017
The fabric pens were a bit of a last minute decision. I have a long sleeve natural cotton shirt that I could draw on and / or get people to sign.
ReplyDeleteBest travel accessory ever is still the water brushes. I usually travel with a waterbrush and some watercolour pencils, but the freebie watercolour discs are more compact and will be fun.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great plan you have!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much John Samuel and cobalt please!
ReplyDeleteRemember to pack a blue or black pen where you can get at it so you can fill out the boarding/embarkation cards. I made the mistake of filling one out in purple as it was the only pen I had to hand. It did not go down well.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! The kiddies wooden Lamy has black in it, and the two water resistant Sharpies are too, so I should be set.
ReplyDeleteDeparture cards are a thing of the past, as from July 1 they are no longer required. I will miss trying to find the cards prior to entering passport control area, finding the pen for each of us, snagging a table in the restaurant area where the duty free shops are and getting passport number, destination details, and is it Singapore or the final destination, flight details....ah good times at the start of any journey now lost. :-)
ReplyDeleteMuch like stamps in ones passport. Thanks K! It also means no nice elderly ladies handing out the departure cards.
