Goodbye Mr Abbott. Do let the door hit you on the way out.
hmmm I won't go into the policies but i don't think his policies mean't anything to most people. Although they were very inflammatory to those who disagreed with them. eg most of the people in this circle. He couldn't communicate well and did oddball captain calls that just made him look foolish. This with his existing attack dog image eroded all ability for him to convince people of anything he said.
I find Social media to be not very representative.People tend to congregate around people with similar views who vent/perform and whinge to a receptive audience. And then the most outlandish gets reported in mainstream media to cause a controversy. And often in private or in a real social situations those peoples views are expressed differently.
Saying or doing silly things that the people who don't like him on social media castigate him for didn't get rid of him otherwise he would have evaporated long before now.
No he did to himself before he got elected with his attack dog image.views about him were already set. he had a chance to convince people otherwise like keating did but he failed.
If Gillard and Rudd had being less self destructive they wouldn't have been turfed out. It a reflection of Mass Narcissism that seems to be the major mindset result from the net and social media use. many people seem to worry how they look on facebook etc. it's a strange self absorbed insular instant fix existence that i struggle to understand and our politicians seem to be going that way as well.
while it may look silly to others. It's still a much better way of having a coup than what occurs elsewhere in the world and much simpler system of replacing a leader than having a dud president firmly entrenched in place.(much like the labor party seem to have inadvertently set up). While it does make our leadership more vulnerable to popularity contests (insert dreaded social media and 24 second news cycle) it also keeps them in check.
3rd dud pm in a row i blame social media
ReplyDeleteYes, his policies had nothing to do with it.

His policies did mean a lot to a lot of people. And a lot of people are on social media...
ReplyDeleteif you're going to be a slush fund for the corporate sector and hammer the lower end of society. It'll catch up to you eventually.
ReplyDeleteNot sure it had anything to do with his Policies, he was just an Arrogant SoB!
